Be welcome in the
hobbit-hole!
Within few days I have managed to upload th second update. The first update was mainly
necessary because of the move to Angelfire but now there are a lot of additions and
changes in content.
Many of you have propably been waiting for the LotR-page: Well, here it is. Of course, it
is not yet finished (will it ever be?) and because I had only few days to work on it I
only worked on the Appendices. I regard this to be better than beginning a part of the
book and do not finish it.
In addition to thus, I worked on the listed of poems and there have been some further
innovation (you will see when you browse through the site)...
Note: I have just started to translate this page into English (a service to all non-german
Tolkien-lovers), so this page is the only one available in English up to now. Of course,
this will change in future. There may be some mistakes in grammar and spelling, but
remember: I am not a native speaker. How would you do in german language?
So long, Mattias.

| Gandalf paused, and then said slowly in a deep voice:
'This is the Master-ring, the One Ring ro rule them all. This is the One Ring that he lost
may ages ago, to the great weakening od his power. He greatly desires it - but he must
not get it. Frodo sat silent and motionless. Fear seemed to stretch out a vast hand, like a dark cloud rising in the East and looming up to engulf him. Illustration by Alan Lee from the centenary edition of The Lord of the Rings to Tolkien's 100. anniversary of birth 1992. More artwork you will find in the Gallery. |
Who was Tolkien at all ?
Tolkien is regarded as the main represent of fantasy literature and
simultaneous as its establisher in modern times. His works are all time bestsellers and
have been imitated many times. Most of today fantasy literature is founded upon his books.
You will find a comprehensive biography here.

New :
Some small and unimportant improvements. I added the (german) review of the Apendices of the LotR. A new picture at the gallery. Further work on the list of poems is done. Fromnow on you will find the page only at Angelfire.com, but there will be a hint at AOL.What will come next?
Now I will start completing the poems section. In addition to that I will do
further work at the LotR page. And if I find something with a scanner you will see the
cover of the German edition of The Father Christmas letters.
When this is done, some notes on the HoME and the Silmarillion will follow together with a
site with good links. Of course I will try to work on the English version whenever
possible.
